Cat Tien National Park Is one of Vietnam important national park in Vietnam, Cat Tien is about 3 hours drive from Ho Chi Minh city, It protects one of the largest areas of lowland tropical rainforests left in Vietnam. Cat Tien national park was protected initially in 1978 as two sectors, Nam Cat Tien and Tay Cat Tien. Another sector, Cat Loc, was gazeted as a Rhinoceros Reserve in 1992 upon the discovery of a population of Javan Rhinoceros, an occasion that brought the park into the world’’s eye. The three areas were combined to form one park in 1998.
 
The jungles of Nam Cat Tien support an astounding variety of bird life, a very healthy population of monkeys. Nam Cat Tien boasts a wide range of evergreen, semi deciduous and bamboo forests, some 1800 species of plants thrive in the park.
In 2002 UNESCO added Cat Tien National Park to its list of biosphere reserves.

A great walk through the forest to a fascinating destination is a beautiful wetland area where luckily you may see various kind of animals just a telescopic sight.

Tour details:


Day 1: HCMC - CAT TIEN NATIONAL PARK

07.30 Departure by car to Cat Tien National Park. The terrain rises up gradually via volcanic area. On arrival, we cross Dong Nai River to the park center. Check in room at the park center/ Cat Tien Jungle Lodge
13:00 In the afternoon, we will visit the Bear Sanctuary where they rescue and take care of hunted bears in Vietnam until their health get well enough to be released into the wild. Then trek back to the center for leisure.
Start walking 3km along the ecologic route: sites of Lagerstroemia Ovalfolia (Bang Lang), Tetrameles nudiflora (Tung), Cycas rumphii (Thien Tue), Ancistrolandus tectorius (Trung quan), Afzelia cyclocarpa (Go).
Trek back to the Park center. 
Night activity: 20.00, 4WD vehicle transfer to TaLai buffer zone to look for nocturnal animals.

Day 2: NAM CAT TIEN PARK (B)

Morning, 4WD vehicle will transfer you inside the park to junction where we turn off the main route and trek 5 km to Crocodile lake station.
Short break at lake, do some optional activities: rowing on the lake, watching biodiversity. Luckily, you may see crocodiles, various birds living in the lake, then trek back to the main route. 4WD pick up, transfer back to the center.
Afternoon, around 3pm, we will take a canoe to visit Tien Island, walk 800m to reach the centre of island, where E.A.S.T Centre (U.K) is located.
Enjoy interesting talks with E.A.S.T members about funny primate rescues and daily primate care. Hike 800m back to meet-up with canoe and return to the park center In the evening, it’s free time to relax your tiring legs after a 11km - trekking day.

Day 3: NAM CAT TIEN PARK - HCMC (B)

Cat Tien National Park Morning, after simple breakfast, we continue our journey to explore the Nam Cat Tien treasure trove of biodiversity. The 4WD vehicle will take you to the zone of Ficus Benghalensis. It has Vietnamese name “Cay Si” and usual name “weeping figs”.
We will drive 14kms to trail-head then do 2kms trekking here to observe many weird forms of ficus trees here, which emerges half body on the water surface of the stream but it has many great branches which creates a wonderful scene. Moreover, if luck comes, we will have chance to see some rare kinds of birds here.
Back to trail-head for meet-up with 4WD and transfer back to Park Center. Take shower & short break.
Leaving Cat Tien Park, crossing the river by ferry or boat.
Transfer by car to Saigon
Drop off at the hotel in HCMC
