The sprawling city of My Tho, located on the banks of the Upper Mekong River, is one the closest cities in the mighty Mekong Delta to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), and can be reached by road in just one hour. Those on a tight schedule can take a day tour to My Tho. Enjoy the scenic journey along the National Highway, bordered by green rice fields. On arrival, take a leisurely boat trip around the four beautiful islands known as Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix and Tortoise islands.

Enjoy a rowing boat ride in the shadows of the water-coconut palms along the tiny canals of Ben Tre Province. Visit the picturesque orchards and sample the freshly picked fruit at the invitation of friendly local farmers. Spend some time in the villages to learn about the daily lives of the inhabitants, listen to their traditional folk music and watch them gather for traditional birth and death ceremonies, or joyous weddings parties.
 

Tour Details:
08:00 Transfer to My Tho from your hotel in HCM with a two hour drive will expose the colorful outskirt life as well as picturesque rice fields along the journey.    
10:00 Upon arrival, visit the South Fruit Tree Research Institute where you may get a chance to talk to the local expert.
11:00 Then get on a boat trip up Mekong River to a local garden restaurant in Ben Tre for lunch
12:00 Have lunch with local specialties of deep fried elephant-ear fish, shrimps, and more (excluded)
13:00 Visit the fruit garden around the restaurant
14:00 Transfer into a small canal to go to another fruit garden to see how the local farmers live, making bee honey and coconut candies
Back to the big boat and cruise on the main river to Thoi Son Island 5 to taste seasonal fruits, visit the fruit gardens.
Take sampan ride through small canal back to the big boat then transfer back to the harbor.
15:30 Return to Ho Chi Minh City.
17:00 Drop off at the hotel
